goo.tc is the personal site of Scott Hardie, a web development manager from Sarasota, Florida. This page was written for personal acquaintances who come to the site seeking more information about him.

Born May 25, 1978, Scott grew up mostly in the Chicago suburb of Saint Charles. As a boy, over and over Scott created hobby-themed clubs for his friends, calling meetings and self-publishing newsletters. His writing grew into a hobby that won him awards in high school and led him to major in English in college with a minor in creative writing. During his five years at Bradley University and Western Illinois University, Scott made friends but avoided class, preferring to stay home and tinker on his ever-growing web site. By the time he graduated in 2002 and moved to Florida, the site had grown from HTML to PHP and beyond, and Scott pursued a career in the field. After two years as a web developer at a firm in Sarasota, Scott was promoted to manager and runs a staff of ten people who create and maintain large web sites. Whenever he calls meetings or writes staff announcements, he remembers his boyhood clubs with fondness.

Scott enjoys watching The Sopranos once a week with his mother Joan and having dinner regularly with local friends Miah Poisson, Ines Sarante, and John Edwards. He spends a few weekends a year visiting old friends across the country, including close friends Denise Sawicki in Fargo, Daniel Rehn in San Diego, Matthew Preston in Milwaukee, and Anna Gregoline, Jackie Mason, and Lori Lancaster in Chicago.

When he's not toying with this ten-year-old site, Scott enjoys video games, and movies, especially from his Netflix account, and discussing current events with friends over meals out. He's a liberal atheist teetotaler and considers himself logical to a fault. Though he's sometimes teased for the daily consistency of his wardrobe – black t-shirt, black slacks – he prides himself on being a simple, laid-back person, friend to all and stranger to none. He is much overweight but otherwise enjoys good health.
